The University's Centre for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE) seeks participants for a government-funded study on 'The impact of English language proficiency and workplace readiness on employment outcomes and performance of tertiary international students'. In the next few weeks, we will be conducting group interviews with international students from various disciplines in the University.
For the interviews, we are seeking final year international students in the following disciplines: Accounting (or Commerce), Engineering, Information Technology, Medicine, and Nursing.

The first workshop in this program aims to assist eligible graduate research students (and recent alumni) to rework their thesis for publication to a broader audience. A practical introduction to the publishing process is presented by key industry figures, who will encourage participants to consider:
Style: how to write for the general reader rather than an examiner.
Content: what aspects of your research will interest the general reader? Who exactly is your potential market?
Form: book? Newspaper opinion piece? Magazine essay? Exhibition? Documentary? Website? What is the best way to get your message across?
The publication support program will help graduate research students make the transition from a readership of three to a readership of three thousand (or more!). Applications are due by Friday 22 August.
Workshop dates: Tuesday 09, Wednesday 10 & Thursday 11 September
Time: 10 am to 4 pm
Venue: Multifunction Room, Graduate Centre
Cost: $100
For more information and eligibility requirements, see www.msgr.unimelb.edu.au/writingcentre/psp.html
