There are several computer labs available in the Graduate Centre. All computers are available for postgraduate use only, for academic purposes. Users must comply with University regulations on computer use and food or drink cannot be consumed in the labs. Printing from labs and carrels can be picked up from the Print Room (Room G22).
UMPA’s Graduate Presentation and Publishing Centre (GPPC) is located on the ground floor in room G23. The GPPC is a computer lab specifically equipped for the needs of Postgraduate Students. The hardware and software packages have been assembled for the production of theses, essays and assignments.
1 x MAC, 7 x PCs, scanner, located upstairs in the West Wing. Software packages include Pagemaker, Photoshop, Adobe Go Live, Illustrator, and Acrobat, and scanners are available. Open 24 hours a day.
24 hour black & white printing is now available via the use of a Unicard. Cards can be purchased and re-charged from a machine in the room.
8 x PCs located upstairs in the East Wing. Open 24 hours a day. Software packages include Microsoft Office, Endnote, Minitab, SPSS, Firefox.
4 x MAC, 5 x PCs, located upstairs in the West Wing. Open 24 hours a day. Software packages include Microsoft Office, Endnote, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Located at the top of the building, the loft is open from 8 am to 10 pm weekdays only. If you have your own laptop, you can plug it into the University's SPIN network through data points in the Loft.
